“Don’t wait for people to be kind. Show them how.” — Unknown
About a week and a half ago I was filled with disappointment about a number of things, one of which being that a photo session that I donated to a local silent auction for Relay for Life wasn’t bid on at all. I was a little surprised and I suppose when I hear “no” it only drives me to do more…knowing that I can help make a difference. I stepped up to offer two free photo sessions to by picking randomly two people from those that donated to my former student, Sakina Zorayq’s Relay for Life page. Of course my hopes were to not just meet her goal, but to exceed it. In just one day we surpassed her goal of $250 and by this afternoon we ended up raising a total of $565 for Relay for Life. I thank you all who stepped up to donate and also those of you who helped me spread the word. Without all your help this would not have been possible.
As promised, the kids and I put all the names of those who donated to Relay into a hat and I allowed them to each pick one name. Here’s the video announcement of our winners of a FREE photo session with me.
I will be emailing the winners of the photo sessions directly with more information.
I’m sure this isn’t the last you’ll see of me giving so hopefully you’re a fan in facebook or follow my blog.
Thanks again for all your support. You guys rock!
