We’re over halfway to Baby Kern’s due date. Ah, heck – but WHO’S counting? There are just 136 days left. But for some reason I have this feeling Baby Kern might just greet us a bit sooner than that, and we were warned of the possibility of that today at our doctor’s appointment.
We went in today for a routine visit and an ultrasound to check the baby closely but also to check on the status of the placenta previa complication that was present during the last two ultrasounds. What a relief today was! The baby is doing great and the placenta previa has totally corrected itself. I was reassured that there are no chances for it to return. The doctor said to resume normal activities – so no more light duty for me! (So who wants to go spinning?)
The ultrasound also confirmed once again that Baby Kern’s a boy and he’s also a bit bigger than he’s expected to be. That means either he might be a big baby or he’ll end up being born earlier than expected. He’s measuring about a week ahead of schedule. I know once October rolls around I will be planning to expect anything, especially knowing Hope was born 10 days earlier than expected.
And for those of you wondering about how Hope’s doing now that she’s having a little brother – she’s gradually accepting it. She still tells us she wishes she was having a sister, but she gets pretty excited when we go out seeing all the baby boy toys and clothes. She’s looking forward to being a big sister soon.
Well, I better get moving – I only have 136 days left to get a lot done!
